Teamsheets

Post by Darlington Dave on Sat Mar 03, 2018 7:03 pm

Managers are required to send in a sheet for their team for each game and this must be PM'd to the relevant game runner

The MOTD game allows for sides and so the positions used on the teamssheets are:-
GK
DFL
DFC
DFR
DML
DMC
DMR
MFL
MFC
MFR
AML
AMC
AMR
FWL
FWC
FWR

When creating a teamsheet it is the same as in ESMS but the player side needs to be shown and commas need to separate the tactic part. e.g. TACTIC P IF MIN <= 60, SCORE = 0
A substitution would be SUB 1 12 GK IF MIN >= 70, SCORE >= 2.
Otherwise all is same as any other ESMS but the sides make us slightly unique.

An example of a teamsheet is

Code:
arl
P

GK M_Hassen
DFL H_Bellerin
DFC L_Koscielny
DFC C_Jallet
DFR Gabriel
MFR Dimitri_Payet
MFC G_Xhaka
MFC W_Hughes
MFL Zoran_Tosic
FWC Chris_Wood
FWC O_Giroud

GK P_Cech
DFC N_Monreal
MFC C_Marchisio
MFC Arda_Turan
FWC W_Bony

PK: Chris_Wood

TACTIC D IF MIN >= 71, SCORE >= 1
TACTIC P IF MIN <= 60, SCORE = 0
SUB 2 13 DFC IF MIN = 60
SUB 6 16 FWC IF MIN >= 60, SCORE <= -1

The above explained
arl = This is the teams three letter code. arl is Arsenal in this example. The simulator uses this code to determine
which team is playing and checks that the players are available for selection by comparing the teamsheet with the team
roster.
P = Is the tactic the team is playing. The tactics are essential in how your team performs. P in this example is passing,
we explain tactics in greater detail below.

POSITIONS
GK = Goalkeeper
DF = Defender
DM = Defensive Midfielder
MF = Midfielder
AM = Attacking Midfielder
FW = Forward

The first 11 players are the starting 11, the next 5 are the substitutes.

PK: = The Penalty Taker

The above is a basic teamsheet layout and this will get your team through a 90 minute game. There is of course extra
tactics and tricks to take your club further, and these are explained further later in these rules.

CHOOSING YOUR TACTIC
Your tactic will decide how your team will play and how your players will use the skills at their disposal. The earlier
example used the N tactic, but you can choose from 7 different options. Additionally, each tactic enjoys a bonus against
two other tactics, but suffers a disadvantage against a further two. Managers will try to predict the tactics employed by
their opposing manager, and counter these in order to try and dominate the match. This gives a weaker team a fighting
chance against a stronger team. The options are:-

Tactic                         Bonus Against
N=Normal                  European and Attacking
L=Long Ball                Counter Attack and Normal
P=Passing                  Long Ball and Normal
C=Counter Attack       Passing and Attacking
A=Attacking               Defensive and European
D=Defensive              Long Ball and Passing
E=European               Counter Attack and Defensive
S=Samba

CHANGING TACTICS AND MAKING SUBSTITUTIONS AS THE GAME PLAYS
As the game progresses you are able to change your team’s style and make substitutions depending on time, score and
certain situations. We explain all available commands below and use the teamsheet example above to explain them.

TACTIC D IF MIN >= 71, SCORE >= 1
On this command the team will change to Defensive style in the 71st Minute if the team is winning by one goal or more. You can also change your style depending
on goals.

TACTIC P IF MIN <= 60, SCORE = 0
This would mean your team would change to Passing style if they were level up to the 60th minute.

SUB 2 13 DFC IF MIN = 60
This is a substitute tactic. SUB means substitute. 2 represents the 2nd player down on the teamsheet which is
H_Bellerin . 13 represents the 13th player on the teamsheet which is N_Monreal. DFC means the player will come on as a
Central Defender. = 60 represents the minute for the change, so this will occur on the 60th minute.

SUB 6 16 FWC IF MIN >= 60, SCORE <= -1
This substitution will replace the 6th player on the list (Dimitri_Payet ) with the 16th player (W_Bony) after 60 minutes,
if the team is losing by one goal or more. This will also change the formation as a forward is being replaced by a midfielder.

As an addenda the ESMS version being used in MOTD does not accept the AGG command.

Also there is an extra tactic available in MOTD - the "S" or Samba tactic. These are the notes from the previous version of the rules:

Tactic - S – Samba Football –

Ideal formations - 4-3-3, 2-3-2-3, 3-4-3, 3-3-1-3

The style involves roaming movement and positional interchange among midfielders, moving the ball in intricate patterns, and sharp, one- or two-touch passing but keeping possession which can deny the opposition scoring chances.
The team is always in possession, so does not need to switch between defending and attacking.
